He who loves his own wife loves himself 29for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, 30because we are parts of His body. 28So husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, because we are members of his body. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. If we claim to believe Christ, we must truly love other people we must seek their welfare, and we must pray for their salvation. God’s blessings are bound to follow people that genuinely love others.Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, … Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. Hence, everyone who claims to be followers of Jesus Christ must prove his or her faith with sincere love. It was meant for everyone to prosper and benefit from God’s kingdom. Christ came to love, he preached love, and he died and resurrected for love’s sake! Christ’s love is selfless, pure, and positive. Nothing is remotely significant as true love. ![]() ![]() Christians Should Exercise True Love Like ChristĬhrist’s love must be found among all Christians. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud” (1 Corinthians 13:3-4 NLT). “If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. Paul explained the necessity of love to the Corinthian brethren and said, Christianity is rooted in God’s love, and every Christian must demonstrate sincere love.
